It is currently 4.30am on the day of my departure. No, I have not got up for an early morning flight. In fact, I have actually not yet slept.
Firstly, let me apologise for not having been on the scene the last few weeks, I have been having some parallel adventures in North America and Canada and hence abandoned you for so long. This has made my last minute preparations, well, very last minute.
With only a 4 day turn over between trips, you can imagine how my mind keeps checking and double checking the many lists I have accumulated over the year.
I am currently sleeping in the hall (in my new sleeping bag with liner) because my bed has somewhat exploded. I hope it all fits, I hope it all weighs less than 20kg and I hope I have no liquids in my hand luggage. As someone who travels a reasonable amount, the one thing I feel I am missing is a handbag! Everything but the kitchen sink is on you so you know your passport, ticket, money, travel insurance, camera and any other essentials are on you at all times. Maybe a money belt is the way to go until you reach your destination? Then divide everything in clever hiding places?
Anyway, before my battery runs out and I have to get out of my super comfy sleeping bag to charge it, here’s a little montage of what todays packing has entailed.
I’ll try and type up a quick kit list and medications list if I get time in the morning (later on in the morning that is) AND regarding my FEELINGS about the whole thing. That too will have to wait until I have time to actually process said feelings. I’m guessing this is going to be at the airport where my plane will be grounded due to snow.
Wish I was in Canada right now, humph!
