Layovers

Let me set the scene.  I am at Amsterdam en route to Lima.  I have had enough wifi to read the hearty well wishes of friends and family.  It makes me tremble with nerves, literally tremble.  What am I so worried about?  At least I finally managed to get someone to agree to book me airport transfers at Cusco (after much unnecessary angst).  As long as there is a body to pick me up on the other side, I can breathe.

‘Last weekend, the Everest crew who had done Peru were getting me very excited about it all, though I can’t for some reason shake this gnawing sense of worry in the back of my mind.

Nepal was fine.  It’s kind of like India and India is home.

South America?  South America is a whole other place that I know nothing about.  In many ways I’m very excited, but there is that small element of ‘be on your guard’ creeping into my mind.

I’ll tell you what though, I can’t wait to get on that flight!’

south america is wonderful! I’ve been here two months so far – at first the culture shock can be intense but you fall in love with the way of life here so quickly. Good luck and have a great time 🙂
