‘It just…makes my heart go fast’

I had one of those moments today.  Where the words all tumbled out, jardon-esque.

‘It just…makes my heart go fast’.  I heard myself whispering back.

What an idiotic moment?

The pause in the conversation was palpable.  Oh ground, swallow me up, please.

‘Sorry’ I stumbled on.  ‘I don’t know how else to explain it’.

The question?  ‘Why do you want to do all this?’

All this?  I hear you ask.

Yes, voluntary work overseas.  Child health in developing countries.  Help where help is so desperately needed.

Because…because… ‘It just…makes my heart go fast’.

And as I willed my coffee to turn into a vortex or black hole with depths unknown, I heard a gentle reply.

‘Don’t be sorry…it was very…passionate’.

Yup.  That pretty much sums it up.  Now why didn’t I think of that?!

Idiot.

Enjoy this little clip from an all time favourite movie of mine, Kal Ho Na Ho.  ‘Listen…Live…Be Happy…Smile…You never know…Tomorrow may never be’.
