One for sorrow, two for joy

This morning I woke up and knew, just knew, it was going to be one of those mornings where good things would happen.  Even driving away from sunshine and through the Ayrshire fog, it still felt good.  Like the rays of sun had touched my skin leaving behind goosebumps of happy anticipation.  And the magpies, oh so many lining the motorway.  One for sorrow, two for joy… I rhyme to myself.  Two sets of two for joy, I think as I speed past the love birds.  Surely this isn’t spring?  And yet something inside me was definitely springing.

The wheels are in motion and that is all I will say.

One for sorrow, two for joy…
